Reflecting on 2025: highlights from our December newsletter
As 2025 ends, we take a moment to look back at what we achieved together. Our latest December newsletter brings together key moments from the past year and highlights the collective progress made across the global bladder cancer community.
Reflecting on a year of collective impact
Throughout 2025, the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition continued to grow its reach, strengthen patient advocacy, and expand international collaboration. As a result, this year alone, our work reached more than 12.5 million people on social media and over 85,000 visitors on our website, showing the increasing demand for reliable, patient-centred information and support.
One of the major milestones of the year was the 5th Annual World Bladder Cancer Patient Forum, held in Brussels. During the event patients, advocates, healthcare professionals, researchers and policymakers came together to exchange knowledge and advance shared goals in bladder cancer care. The December newsletter revisits these discussions and points readers towards the Forum highlights video, report and recordings, ensuring that learning and dialogue continue beyond the event itself.
Beyond events, brought meaningful progress across awareness, education, and policy engagement. From Bladder Cancer Awareness Month and the global impact of the “Feeling Unsure? Get Checked” campaign, to the launch of new factsheets, updated Start-Up Guide translations, and the introduction of our first Scientific Advisory Board, the newsletter captures how patient voices have shaped action at local, regional, and global levels.
It also reflects important moments of leadership transition, welcomes new Board members, and highlights expanding engagement across Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, and beyond. Together, these efforts show our shared commitment to improving outcomes and quality of life for everyone affected by bladder cancer.
«This year, we have expanded our reach, strengthened global collaboration, and continued to build a community grounded in patient experience. Thank you to everyone who has contributed, shared, and supported our mission throughout 2025.
