Understanding BCG treatment: patient information factsheet now available in Spanish and French
We are pleased to share that our patient information factsheet “Understanding BCG treatment for bladder cancer” is now available in Spanish and French, alongside the English version launched last month.
The factsheet is the ninth patient information factsheet in our series for patients and carers. It explains Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG), one of the most common treatments for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), in clear and simple terms. It follows the whole treatment journey: what BCG is and how it works, what to expect before, during and after each session, the side effects to watch for, and why regular follow-up matters. Each version also includes questions to ask your care team and a printable schedule you can bring to appointments.
Many people hear about bladder cancer for the first time at diagnosis. Offering trusted patient information in more languages is one simple way the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition works to help more patients and families take an active role in their care, wherever they live.
You can download the Spanish, French and English editions on our factsheet page, and we invite you to share them within your community.
Would you like this factsheet in another language? We want it to reach as many people as possible. If you would like to help translate it, or to request a specific language, please contact us at info@worldbladdercancer.org. We would be glad to work with you.
The World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition gratefully acknowledges the support of our Global Impact Partner, Johnson & Johnson, and our Premier Partners, Astellas, AstraZeneca and Ferring Pharmaceuticals. This factsheet has been reviewed for accuracy by the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition Scientific Advisory Board (SAB).
