Join us in Hong Kong for the World Bladder Cancer Patient Forum 2026
Behind every statistic is a person navigating a diagnosis, a treatment decision or life after bladder cancer, and often a carer beside them. This September, the global community working to support them comes together in Hong Kong. The World Bladder Cancer Patient Forum 2026 takes place on September 21 and 22, 2026, at The Harbourview, Wan Chai, and registrations are now open.
Now in its sixth edition, the Forum is the annual global meeting point for patient advocates, healthcare professionals, researchers and partners. Every year, 614,298 people are diagnosed with bladder cancer worldwide (GLOBOCAN 2022), and around 1 in 4 of them are women, a reality too often overlooked. Two days of shared learning help turn that scale of need into practical, patient-centred action at national and local level.
- Day one, Advocates day (September 21), is dedicated to our member community. Sessions move from a rapid-fire showcase of successful member projects to a practical introduction to AI tools for advocates, followed by workshops on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) for patient advocates, growing a small organisation into a national leader, building collaboration and partnerships, and managing conflict within an organisation. The day closes with a World Café on shaping our next patient and carer survey, ensuring lived experience continues to guide our evidence.
- Day two, Public day (September 22), opens to a wider audience. The programme explores bladder cancer care realities around the world, the latest developments in research, and a showcase for Bladder Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). Panels tackle patient-centric clinical trials, the role of carers in the healthcare system, shared decision-making, and addressing the gaps in support for women with bladder cancer, alongside a session capturing lived experience directly from patients.
The programme brings together advocates and experts from across our coalition and beyond. Download the agenda to see the full line-up of sessions and speakers. The complete programme with all confirmed speakers will be available soon.
