Updated Start-up Guide now available in 6 languages

Earlier last year, we updated our Start-Up Guide for bladder cancer patient groups to reflect evolving needs, new insights, and lessons learned from patient advocates worldwide. Now, we have taken the next step by updating the translated versions of the Start-Up Guide, ensuring that more patient advocates can access these resources in their own language.

Setting up a bladder cancer patient group is a journey with many steps. Knowing where to start can be overwhelming, but this updated guide is here to help. Whether you’re just starting or looking to expand your group, our guide offers comprehensive advice, tools, and shared experiences from established organisations worldwide.

How this guide can support you

Through collaboration with our global members, we’ve gathered valuable lessons and practical tools to support your efforts. Our mission is to foster the growth of bladder cancer patient groups in every country and create a united, informed global community.

This updated guide will help you:

  • Establish and strengthen bladder cancer patient groups at national level
  • Follow a structured pathway, from defining a vision and gathering volunteers to formalising governance and securing funding
  • Access ready-to-use resources and templates to support advocacy, awareness raising, and communication
  • Learn from best practices and case studies drawn from patient organisations across different countries
  • Build partnerships with healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders
  • Strengthen community engagement and expand your support network
Moving forward together

We envision a future where every country has a national bladder cancer organisation, providing robust support for patients and advocating for improved care. Making the Start-Up Guide available in multiple languages is a key step towards that vision.

Bladder cancer impacts thousands of people globally, and patient groups play a pivotal role in raising awareness, supporting individuals, and driving positive change. Your work matters, and together we can make a difference.
