WECAN Retreat 2023 brings cancer patient advocacy leaders together

On April 20-21, 2023, the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition joined leaders from more than 20 cancer patient advocacy organisations working in Europe and internationally for the WECAN Retreat 2023 in Frankfurt, Germany.

The annual WECAN Retreat 2023 was an intensive two-day meeting focused on collaboration, listening, discussions, and alignment of the community to drive forward the work to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. The participants reflected on past achievements, ongoing initiatives, potential collaborative research, education, and advocacy projects. The meeting was attended by Lori Cirefice, WBCPC Vice-President and President of Cancer Vessie France, together with Alex Filicevas, WBCPC Executive Director.

The meeting was organised by WECAN–Workgroup of European Cancer Patient Advocacy Networks. WECAN serves as a platform for cancer patient organisations to collaborate, learn, and align to strengthen European patient advocacy. The World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition joined WECAN as a member in 2019, alongside over 20 umbrella cancer patientadvocacyorganisationsactive in Europe.
