Connecting with urology professionals at EAU25

Our secretariat team and several WBCPC Board Members attended the European Association of Urology 2025 (EAU25) Congress, held from 21–24 March in Madrid, Spain. At the event, we hosted a booth where we welcomed urologists, allied healthcare professionals, patients, and others to learn more about the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition and our member organisations.

Throughout the congress, we had the opportunity to speak with visitors from around the world about the findings from our Global Bladder Cancer Patient & Carer Survey and our upcoming campaign for Bladder Cancer Awareness Month. We invited everyone to get involved and make use of the many resources we’ve prepared for this year. Many attendees stopped by our booth to pick up our factsheets, available in both English and Spanish.

Our conversations naturally led to highlighting the urgent need for more bladder cancer patient organisations globally. According to our survey, 53% of respondents who reached out to a patient group found the information and support they needed. At our booth, we showcased our Start-up Guide, available in multiple languages, which helps doctors, patients, and caregivers connect and launch local bladder cancer support groups. This guide includes practical tips and resources from our community, making it easier to build new support networks for those affected by bladder cancer.

We were so happy to see so many people stop by our booth to take a selfie with our selfie frames and help raise awareness about bladder cancer.
