Bjorn Carlson

Bjorn Carlson has recently joined the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition (WBCPC) as a Programme Support Trainee. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Boston College and a Master’s in Russian, Eurasian, and East European Regional Studies from Columbia University.

He has a strong interest in people-centred policy work and has gained experience across government and civil society. This includes roles at the U.S. Embassy in North Macedonia, as well as with the Center for the Study of Democracy and International IDEA, where he contributed to research on policy issues related to democratic governance. As a Fulbright Program alumnus, he conducted research and civic engagement work in Bulgaria, focusing on democratic participation and historical memory.

These experiences have strengthened his analytical, research, and organisational skills. Bjorn is committed to supporting meaningful initiatives and contributing to the global community of people affected by bladder cancer.
