BCLEAR at EAU26: WBCPC highlights the importance of shared decision-making in bladder cancer care

At EAU26, WBCPC contributed to the BCLEAR session on shared decision-making, sharing global patient survey insights and highlighting the importance of clear communication and patient involvement in bladder cancer care.

Shared decision making is not only about presenting treatment options. It also requires open discussion about the consequences of those options, so that patients can make decisions aligned with their values and priorities.

On International Women’s Day 2026, the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition launches a new factsheet to raise awareness of the specific challenges women face in bladder cancer diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.

Women affected by bladder cancer often tell us that they did not immediately recognise their symptoms or felt their concerns were not fully heard. By providing clear, practical information focused specifically on women’s experiences, we aim to support earlier conversations, informed decisions and greater awareness of the unique challenges women may face.
